Scott Brown First Republican Since 1972!

If that doesn't appear to be a big statement made to Barack Obama and the public's views on what Democrats have been doing this past year, I'm not sure what is.

A Republican, Scott Brown, was elected as Senator for Massachusetts.  Massachusetts has been Democratic territory since 1972 so the buzz is that by electing a Republican, the public is giving their opinion on what Barack Obama and the other Democrats have done in office to date, specifically on the health care reform.  I'd like to hear from some tea parties in Massachusetts to hear from the public if that is why they voted the way they did.  I wonder if this election has twisted the stomachs of some democrats and if the dems will think twice about their approval for health care reform.  If it were me, I know my stomach would definitely be twisted in anxiety at the moment...no need for colon cleansing foods for me. Anxiety over any future elections for myself would be in the front of my mind for sure.

Did you know that Senator Brown is a lawyer and used to be a model.  He was in Cosmopolitan magazine years ago!  That's an interesting fact I hadn't heard about.

Health Care Reform

Boy, the health care reform debates sure are heating up. I agree that there needs to be reform, but I do not want the government to have a large role in it. I just don't think that is what our country is about. It seems like the people who feel as I do are now the majority as the approval ratings for the reform goes down.

I want choices. I want to have some control over my health. I want to be able to pick and choose what my family's coverage is, have insurance options with insurance quotes for competitive pricing, and go to the doctors and specialists I choose to in a timely fashion. It's up to me on who and when my children see doctors. I certainly don't want my most important little lives to be on the government's schedules!

Voter Violation Charges Against Three Black Panthers Dropped by Obama's Justice Department

It's been awhile since November's elections but I remember the big deal in the media over some alleged voter intimidation by three Black Panthers at polling places, one holding a nightstick. They were charged with violating the voter rights act by using coercion, threats and intimidation. Here is what has been said about it:

"...were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force - one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon."

"...violating the voter rights act by using coercion, threats and intimidation. Shabazz allegedly held a nightstick or baton that prosecutors said he pointed at people and menacingly taped it. "

"...they hurled racial slurs at both blacks and whites."

Democrat Bartle Bull, who worked as a civil rights lawyer in the south in the 1960's, said it was the most blatant form of voter intimidation he had ever seen. In his affidavit, Bull wrote "I watched the two uniformed men confront voters and attempt to intimidate voters. They were positioned in a location that forced every voter to pass in close proximity to them. The weapon was openly displayed and brandished in plain sight of voters." He also said they tried to "interfere with the work of other poll observers ... whom the uniformed men apparently believed did not share their preferences politically," noting that one of the panthers turned toward the white poll observers and said "you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker."

The charges that had been filed for these violations were recently dropped by Obama's Justice Department.

Anybody who doesn't have the same opinion as Janeane Garofalo and chooses to exercise their rights are racists and red-necks? Give me a break. I don't agree with the huge debt that is being put on my children and future grandchildren by Obama and his Administration with all the bailouts and pork. I wasn't at any of the demonstrations but if there had been one locally, I might have been as is my right. I don't think that makes me a racist or a red-neck. I have free speech/expression and the freedom to peacefully assemble. I guess this actress has the same right to spew the hate she did and insult anybody who doesn't agree with Obama's moves so far but she just made herself look like a radical idiot in my personal opinion.

President Obama has ANOTHER TV Spot

I think President Obama needs to actually spend more time in the White House working rather than on television. It seems like he's been on television an awful lot lately. I, personally, don't need so many media spots to go over what he is, or is not doing, while in office so far. If he'd put it all on the internet, like he promised to do while he was campaigning for full disclosure to the American public, we'd have all the information we need!

In Corporate America, you don't see the big CEO on television every other day. He has too much work to do to keep a company running. If a CEO spent so much time in make-up and going over his speeches to the nation, how much actual time would he be spending solving his company's gigantic problems? Not enough I would think.

Since he likes to give so many of them. I'll give one myself.

My Address to President Obama ~

You are not a celebrity. You are a politician despite the "hope" and "change" platform you ran on. My hope in dwindling and fears for my children and grandchildren's futures grow. Not all are in love with your image and don't want to see it every other day on television giving speeches, making insulting jokes, or laughing during interviews over inappropriate topics while the country crumbles around our feet. Please work more and try to resolve this country's gigantic and mounting problems (which I believe you've failed to do, and have possible hurt more, so far). That's my opinion. I assume I am still allowed to voice one since we aren't a fascist country (yet?).

I've heard terms such as socialism and fascist thrown around with respect to President Obama's motives. Now there is a movement to stop the federal government from bankrupting the states. What do you think about this?

Iraq Combat Ending Date & Pork In Spending/Stimulus Bill

Recent FOX News (yes, I am a FOX fan...I don't like the pandering other media networks do):

• President Obama says all Iraq combat operations will end by August 10, 2010.
• Watching the news and they're talking about "pork" in the stimulus bill that include: millions for an addition to the Kennedy library; $2.2 Million to study grape genetics in New York; 475K to expand Italian American Museum in NY; 209K to improve blueberry production in Georgia, 206K for wool research. It's been said that this stimulus bill does not include any earmarks. What are these considered?
• It is being reported on the news right now that there are $410 BILLION in the spending bill for 8,750 earmarks. True or false? I'd like to know!

Let me get this out of the way...

OK, I did not vote for Barack Obama and I don't trust him. He has to prove to me he isn't going to screw this country up more (and he's not done that yet). So far, I'm not impressed with him and I resent that we didn't get a chance to review this stimulus bill (like he promised we would). Lying in the first couple weeks of your presidency isn't a good way to start. I think the stimulus (spending) package is full of crap that taxpayers should not be paying for. I don't think it is going to help enough and I think this country should have been allowed to go through its cycle on its own and it would come out of it better instead of being mired in socialism. There is too much damn government and we just keep voting them into more and more of everything.

Then comes the cartoon that ran in the New York Post yesterday. There were snippets on the news last night about whether this was meant to be racist or was it in reference to the chimp that was shot and killed recently when it attacked its owner's friend. Whatever. This is just in bad taste in my opinion.

Stand Behind President

The election is over. It is supposed to be time for all Americans to stand behind who was elected from what I am hearing from television reporters (coming from those who had nothing but hate for Bush...go figure). I am hearing a lot of fear this morning on the news over Barack Obama and am wondering how well some Americans are going to be able to "stand behind" and "unite" behind him?

For me personally, I don't feel that I can stand behind a man that I don't trust to have Americans' best interests at heart. The politics aside, his connections to a terrorist and hate-spewing racist alone give me more than enough pause to stop me from doing so. While I watched him win on the news, my immediate feeling was deep dread and of not wanting to be in the U.S. over the next four years (transferring to Japan isn't sounding so bad right now). (Just kidding big sister...I won't actually leave the country:)

So I am left with trying to figure out where I stand on this and the gut feeling that electing him was a mistake. I don't stand behind Barack Obama right now. I can't predict the future but from everything I have seen so far of him, it isn't in me to do so. He has to prove himself to me.

Being American, this is my choice to do so.

Now that the election is done and over, it's time to lighten up on the politics on here. However, I do tend to get riled up so don't be surprised if once in awhile, my fingers do the talking for what my mouth can't say and be heard.

Barack Arab-American and Not *gasp* African-American?

OK, I thought I was done with politics for today because it's getting old. However, I was thinking about something I'd heard recently about Barack Obama and since this issue was always an irritant to me (the fact that he claimed to be black without appropriate acknowledgement of his half white side from his mother). I came across some information today:

I am reading on blogs that Barack Obama is not legally "African-American" but Arab-American. I am reading that he is 6.25% African-American and you need to be 12.5% African American to claim being such. Is this true? I don't know. Nobody reports about it though everybody is quick to rave about the "first black president." Is he a liar? A lot of web sites online are claiming he is.

From this site, I've read this:

Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming "America's first African-American president" ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro - a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama's great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator's ethnic composition.).That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side.Put another way, his father could honestly claim African-American ethnic classification. He was the last generation able to do so.Sen. Obama could honestly say, "My father was African-American." Racist presumptions led an Ivy League admissions committee, and lazy "newspapers of record" factcheckers, to presume that if his father is African-American, then Sen. Journalists In Bed With Barack Obama?

How do you know what is true and what isn't? With the news this morning that the L.A. Times has VIDEO of Barack Obama with his terrorist buddy and others and won't release it has me searching the 'net this morning. I want to see this video. I'm not surprised the L.A. Times won't release it. L.A. where the stars hang out...the stars, who we all know are so in touch with reality, who seem to mostly support Barack Obama (at least the ones who will speak out).

Objective journalism is gone. I no longer trust the news sources to provide objective information to inform their readers and viewers...I expect slanted material. How is the public expected to gather the information they need to make informed decisions when most news sources are slanted as they are?

I did come across a few videos during my 'net search this morning. It'd be nice to know what was true or not. It's a sad day when YouTube becomes a source for anybody over a major newspaper.
