Drama-Filled Teen Life

My daughter got a zit on her chin and thought it was the end of the world (it was one small zit...not like she needs to worry about acne scar cream). Just wait several years (it better be several years anyway) when she gets stretch marks or needs an episiotomy!  That tiny, little zit loses its importance.  However, for now, in her teenage life, a tiny zit is HUGE.

Somebody save me from the drama in a teen's life!

First Sorta Date and the Honking Zit

My 13-year-old daughter was asked to the movies tonight by a boy she likes so she is going on a "sorta date."  I don't consider it a real date because I will be taking her and I will be in the theatre (sitting elsewhere of course).  I know a lot of parents around here just drop their kids off at the theatre but I'm not ready for that yet.  Especially knowing that if she has a devious bone in her body that I don't know about (and she will if she is anything like me), she'll be sneaking out of the theatre and doing other things until it is time for me to pick her up again.  That's not going to happen.

She's been so nervous and excited about tonight that she got this honking zit on the side of her nose!  This is the biggest zit she's ever had so she's not happy about it happening right now.  I don't have any acne-pills but she's been cleansing her face better so hopefully, it won't become common for honking zits!

Old & Acne? Seriously!?!?

I just turned 39.  I would've thought by now that acne was behind me!  I was browsing the supermarket aisles this morning looking for a blackhead removal product but didn't find anything that I believed might work.  So now I am going to search online at bestacnetreatment.net and see what I can come up with.

I have two spots that I am about ready to gouge out of my skin. Seriously! I've tried scrubs, pads, masks, and washes. I'm about at the end of my rope.  If I have to get old, wrinkly, saggy, and ornery from hormone upheaval, at least let me live without the acne!

What is the best face cleanser?

What's the best face cleanser for a young teen?  My daughter is getting tiny bumps across her face.  It's not quite pimples yet so not sure I'm looking for acne remedies at this point. I think she just needs a gentle cleanser she can use everyday on her face?  I just don't know what that is!  A soap bar that's not soap?  Those cleansing cloths?  A face cream?

I obviously have no clue.  I used to use Noxzema when I was a teenager.  I don't know what kids use nowadays.  After all, I was her age 26 years ago.

Temperature Still Rising

My temperature this morning was 98 so they are still increasing gradually.  I don't feel as exhausted either.  As my temps rose, my exhaustion decreased.  My skin is still being difficult and I'm looking at acnepril reviews but the eczema....wow, the eczema. It got better on my upper chest but around my waistline - bad news. It's also back on one leg as well.

I have one more day of reading my morning temperature and then I can call the doctor and find out how he interprets these temperatures.  The thyroid, for being such a small organ, sure is a big pain!

Car Transmission Problems

My car might be dropping its transmission on me.  Like I can afford $2,000 to fix it!  All this stress is going to give me an ulcer. At the very least, zits galore.  I'll need the best acne treatment AND a new transmission!

What I would like is a new car actually but that's not going to happen.  I'd love to get a Honda Pilot that seats eight.  That makes it perfect to fit our six kids.  I was dreaming today and looked it up online.  At $700/month, yeah, that is NEVER happening.  It's too expensive but it's nice to dream.

Have a nice weekend everybody!

Slowly Cutting Apron Strings

My teenaged daughter has tiny bumps across her cheeks.  They don't look like regular pimples to me but it's been a long time since I was a teenager (I still get them...just not to the extent teens do).  I don't know if she needs natural acne treatment or a better facial cleanser that won't irritate.  Perhaps it is just a winter thing and now that spring is here and it's not so dry anymore in the house, the irritation will go away.

They didn't affect her fun at her school dance this past weekend.  She slow danced with a boy!  Her first slow dance.  I have pictures.  Even though she'd told me she slow-danced, it was still a bit of a shock to see my oldest child actually doing it.  Surprisingly, her dad handled it better than I did.

Eczema Going Away

One benefit of the thyroid medication increase is that my eczema is clearing up.  It started on the first day of my double dose of thyroid medication and has been improving steadily since.  My face is completely clearned up.  My daughter thought I needed acne medicine (she said my face looked "gross" - thanks honey!). However, it was eczema but it's gone from my face and chest. I have a little bit left around my waistline where the pants rub but that's a lot better too.

I attributed it to my thyroid medication but I guess it could be because I stopped drinking milk too.  Though, if it was milk, I would think I'd have it all year long and not just in the winter like I do.  My doctor wanted me to stop for two weeks and then drink it again and see how I felt.  I went about four days without drinking milk but then I forgot and had a glass after eating some chocolate.  Boy did it hurt my stomach!

He said I could have cheese if it didn't hurt my stomach.  Cream cheese had me doubled over with cramps yesterday morning so I guess cream cheese is out.

My doctor asked me why I needed milk, especially since it hurt me.  I told him, "Calcium."  He informed me there were other ways to get calcium, which I knew but some of those ways involve veggies I don't like.  Guess that means I'll be adding a calcium pill to my daily pill regimen (I take about 8-10 pills a day now between thyroid meds and supplements...I feel positively ancient).

I guess this makes me lactose intolerant.  Oh well, what other species drinks the milk of another species?  None that I know of!

This Economy is Just Crazy!

I just realized that the hives I've been fighting for two weeks, thinking I was allergic to something in the house, might just be hives from stress.  We thought overtime for my husband would kick in by now (they keep telling him that at work) but then it gets postponed.  The mortgage company wants us caught up by Feb. 6 or else they are going to "accelerate" the mortgage.  Yeah, good luck with that.  I can't stand Bank of America.  If I could find a house to rent that was big enough for all of our kids, and take dogs too, I'd tell them to take the house. I don't like it anyway.

How are people refinancing mortgages in this economy?  I hear about it but I don't know how they're able to do it with past due mortgage payments.

All this stress is getting to me.  On top of a whacked out thyroid and hives, maybe the stress will give me adult acne too. Wouldn't that be a joy?

So, I sat down today to get some work done (every little bit helps), look at online colleges (we don't qualify for federal aid because of income but we don't make enough to pay for college - or our mortgage apparently right now), and look up refinancing information.  I think the kids are going to have to brown bag it for lunch for the next few months.  Buying a hot lunch costs more (and we don't qualify for reduced lunch).  Go figure.

What's Been Happening

I've been fighting hives for about two weeks now.  They've been slow-moving and are now on my face.  Oh the joy!  I have no idea what is causing them (otherwise, obviously, I'd get rid of whatever it is).  I see a doctor on Thursday.  He's a new doctor for me.  I hope I'm not completely covered in them by Thursday.  I'm going there for my thyroid but they're going to get a surprise when I walk into their office with hives too.

On top of this, my just turned teenager is worried about breast cancer.  In health class, they talked about breast cancer and even though the teacher told her it's rare at her age (more common past age 35), she had some bumps on her chest and was worried about cancer already.  She is such a worrier. What she needs is acne home remedies and not an ultrasound for cancer.

The kids have school off today so everybody is sleeping in.  It's almost 9:00 a.m. and there isn't a kid awake up here yet.  It's quiet!!  That doesn't happen often.

Jenna Bush Hager on NBC's Today

Did you hear that President George Bush's daughter, Jenna, is now a correspondent for Today on NBC? I was surprised to hear it because it seems like some of the networks have been a little one-sided with the current President.

Jenna Bush Hager is a teacher and author. Now she can add television to her resume. Good for her if it is what she wants.

Speaking of President's daughters, I don't hear much about Chelsea Clinton anymore. We all watched her grow up basically, which has to be awkward for her. While most of us as kids are worrying about the best acne treatment, she had to go through the awkward years in public. I think the last time I remember seeing her in the news was during the last presidential campaign.

Acne Cure Reviews

If you or yours struggle with acne, you might be interested in reading Acnecuresrevealed.net. There are reviews for the different treatments which, if you are like me, are appreciated. I always check out the reviews of products before I buy them. I like to know what other people's experiences have been with a product before I spend.

The top five on their home page right now are Zyporex, Orovo Acne, Acneticin, Oxycerin, and Asso Gold Cleansing Bar. The ratings for these five vary from 93% up to 99%.

If acne is a bother for you, check them out.

Do Over Parenting

My oldest is starting middle school in a few weeks. I have been watching all her baby and toddler videos the past few weeks and am amazed at how much she's grown and changed. If I could go back and do some things different...encouraged (pushed) her more when her fears stopped her from doing something she wanted to do and protected her from things (hindsight) that should never touch a child's life, I would. You don't get "do overs" in parenting though.

Now comes the stage of more firsts - dances, bras and best acne treatment as she maneuvers through puberty, group friend get togethers (no dating yet!), piles of homework, caring about how she dresses (now she wants to shop at Hot Topic while I can afford Wal-Mart, lol), and teenage mood swings. You know what, I think I am going to go hide in all those baby videos and ignore all of this until school starts and it hits me smack in the face that she's jumping over another milestone with starting junior high.
