Twilight Birthday Party Planning Rolling Along

My daughter's 12th Twilight birthday party is in the active planning stages. I wasn't sure if we'd be able to do it because nobody does a "Twilight" cake and the cake decorators will not take a Twilight picture and make it into an edible photo cake the way they do because of copyright issues. So, this is what I have planned so far:

  • I am having a 1/2 sheet cake done with white icing, red borders, and red/white and black flowers. I was going to do a red velvet cake to really get into it but some kids don't like that so I went with a regular yellow cake. I picked up a chess set with white pieces so I can take the chess piece (like on the cover of Breaking Dawn) and put that on the cake. I picked up red satin ribbon (like on Eclipse's book cover) so I can put a piece of that on the cake. I looked for a single red/white flower like on New Moon, but haven't found one yet. The cake will have red, white & black flowers so that's not a huge deal to find so if I don't, no big deal. Then there is the apple for the Twilight cover - I am either going to look for a new one from the craft store (when the snow storm is over) or dig out the red apple christmas ornament I have and use that. That takes care of the cake.

  • I have red, white, and black decorations (streamers, plates, plastic silverware, table cover). Oh shoot, I just realized I forgot the paper cups. Darnit. Better add that to my shopping list before Saturday.

  • I bought regular "Happy Birthday" confetti for the table but I am going to create a sheet of various, small Twilight pictures and cut those out and throw that in with the regular confetti.

  • For games, I bought different card games for the girls to play because I'm sure they'll be up most of the night. I also bought cool blank CD's and I am going to make each kid a CD for their birthday bag (along with the High School musical singing pen, Hanna Montana book covers and candy). I also bought supplies for the girls to make their own bookmarks (the party is based on books after all). There will also be karaoke.

  • My daughter also wants to do a "red" tasting contest - finding different red foods/candy, blindfolding the person, and having them taste and guess what the red food is.

I'm sure they'll be up half, or more, of the night watching DVD's, listening to music, playing games, and gorging on junk food.

So far, so good. I'll have to see what else we come up with between now and Saturday.

that is really cool! I am planning for my 12th bday party and I couldn't find much. I mean, you would think that there would be a TON of twilight party stuff but i can't find a thing! Maybe ill do tinker bell instead.

Check at Wal-Mart over the next few days. They just got in a bunch of Twilight t-shirts and stuff for the dvd release tomorrow so you might start seeing party decorations too!
