Did you hear what the movie studios are trying to do now?

Like the movie studios don't make enough money as it is for themselves and their overpaid actors...now the movie studios are in talks with certain companies (like Netflix) to force them into withholding new movie releases for 30 days from their customers so it would force consumers to buy them instead.

I'll just cancel my Netflix and stop going to the movies altogether. I'll just say to heck with all of them. It's not that important to me to watch a two hour show with an overinflated budget to go along with the overinflated egos of the actors anyway.

Twilight Fans: How TwiHard are you?

Are you a diehard Twilight fan? I am and I'm not even a kid! I guess the new term for that is Twilight + Diehard = TwiHard. Huh. Maybe you have to be a kid to use the term and not sound like an idiot. I just took the quiz that says I am TwiHard so there!

The new movie, New Moon, hits theatres November 20, 2009.

If You Were an Apple, You'd Be Delicious

...that's what my three-year-old said to me today after hearing a girl in "17 Again" (movie with Zac Efron) say it today at the movie theatre. I would imagine I'll hear it a few more times as more kids go and see this movie, lol. It was a cute movie. I can see why a lot of girls like Zac Efron. He's a cute kid. I guess he's not technically a kid. He is 22 years old. My kids liked the movie. We ate too much double buttered popcorn, pepsi, nachos, and junior mints. What a combo! Oy, my poor stomach.

After a week of eating too much and too often, this trip to the movies and all the unhealthy food I put into my system today was just a drop in the bucket. My weight scale tells me it is time to do something. The scale screams, "You're hurting me. Get off!" every time I step on it now. If I don't start doing something about myself, I am going to have to make friends with 200 if I keep this up! Boy do I need the best diet pills on the market about now!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Has anybody seen Underworld Rise of the Lycans yet? I love the Underworld movies but we don't get out much without a babysitter nearby and I hate to ask friends, even though they've offered. So I can't wait for this to come to DVD so I can see it.

I read a lot of vampire, werewolf, and other supernatural books, with vamps being my favorite. Unfortunately, most the vampire movies end up with horrid acting or all gore. I'm not into total gore in movies (can't stand slasher type flicks). I like good acting and a storyline with a little vamp romance.

Yahoo Movies has it rated as an A- based on 1,917 ratings. Not bad. Can't wait to see it on DVD.

One More Day 'til Twilight Craze Begins

One more day to Twilight! Are y'all ready for the new craze? They're saying it's going to be like Harry Potter but because they've already locked these mostly new on the scene actors into the whole saga for little money, that the movie makers are going to be the ones who make tons of money off this one.

My daughter told me this morning that when she was reading Twilight last night, it made her smile because she got to the part where Edward likes Bella. I'm glad she's enjoying reading.

Reduced to Begging

My 11yo is BEGGING to go see Twilight this weekend. We can't do it on opening day because that's daddy's birthday. She didn't even beg when High School Musical 3 came out but she's begging for teenage vampires.

We shall see. I wouldn't mind going to the movies (we've been once in the last few years) and I've read all the Twilight Saga (all four of them) myself.

Who's Going To See Twilight Friday?

I know my oldest wants to go see it on Friday, but we usually wait for movies to come out on video (you know how expensive it is to take six people to the movies)? I wouldn't mind seeing this one though at the theatre. The books were really good and the hoopla over it was enough to get my 11 year old to want to read the zillion pages in the first of four books (ok, not a zillion but several hundred).

So who is going to see Bella and Edward in Twilight next weekend (besides every teenager out there, lol)?

Fun With Dick and Jane

My husband wanted to watch Fun With Dick and Jane (with Tea Leoni and Jim Carrey) on television tonight. I have already seen it once and once was ok with me. I don't like watching movies over and over again unless they are just super fantastic movies. This one was ok to watch once - not twice.

So, I am upstairs playing around on my computer, waiting for my daughter to get home from the horse show while hubby is downstairs I am sure watching Fun With Dick and Jane. I guess I could clean house but who wants to clean at 11:00 p.m. at night? Not moi.

My daughter went to a horse show with our horse trainer and a lot of the girls that ride at the stable with her. This is the first time she's been out this late without being with a parent. She's not likely to be home for a couple more hours yet and I am SO sleepy...trying to stay awake.

Oh gosh, I just heard police sirens. I know it's not her as they are still at the show but my stomach clenched anyway. Silly mom.

Is this what I am destined to do until she turns 18 (wait up for her to make sure she gets in the door okay)?
