We are starting an emergency fund (yes, we FINALLY have one of those).
We really need to get our emergency fund built up. I don't like what's going on in the world right now and I'd feel better if we had a safety net. I want to build that up a little faster than we have been but I don't want to give up EVERYTHING to do it. I don't want to pinch every penny...just enough to make me feel a little better.
Do you have an emergency fund?
There are a couple web sites people should be aware of for unclaimed money and property. The first is www.missingmoney.com (Missing Money) and the other is the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators' site, unclaimed.org.
You never know what you may have out there that you don't know about.
A lot of people do it. I make a bit with my blogging using a couple of my blogs but I'm wondering how people find ways to have web sites/blogs for full-time income or close to it. Is it possible or is it just for a select few? Is the market saturated already? Is AdSense the answer or something else? Niche blogging/marketing?
What's the answer? I wish I knew.
We did. We overspent on xmas this year. We told ourselves we wouldn't do it and we did it anyway on our kids. They will love Santa xmas morning but our bank account...not so much.
We also have two of our kids' birthdays coming up in the next few weeks so the shopping isn't over with yet.
I hear a lot about debt collection agencies but I don't really know much about them. With the market the way it is (we just lost $3500 in our 401K in the last couple months!) I would imagine a lot of people are trying to figure out how to manage their debt and keep a roof over their head. We are in the same boat as a lot of other families. It's a rough time.
Another stimulus package is rumored to be in the works in Washington. How are we going to pay down all this debt? $700 billion bailed out Wall Street (imagine if they'd divided that money up between U.S. tax payers instead...boy, we'd all be out of debt wouldn't we?).
I work from home because I want to be home for my kids and available. I am always on the lookout for LEGITIMATE ways to make money.
