Downside of 30 and Getting Tired

Where do four-year-olds get all that energy?  My daughter ran me around the yard a few times yesterday and I was tired!  I need to build some endurance if I am going to keep up with her this summer (and always keep my inhaler on hand).

I was looking at an elliptical machine, wishing we had room to have some good equipment in the house (that doesn't just collect dust). Our house is too small though.  We walked by some in the store and my daughter said, "Mommy, there is your exercise stuff."  Yeah, in my dreams.

Oil Spill Biggest in the World?

The oil spill is worse than originally thougth according to the BBC.  According to the latest report, it has a circumference of 600 miles and it covers 28,600 square miles.  It is 16 miles away from shore and with the weather changing tomorrow, the shoreline might be impacted.  There is a third leak just discovered.  There are 11 workers missing (presumed dead).

It's expected to be the biggest oil spill in the world - ever.

Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico

So far, they've collected 48,000 gallons of oily water from the Gulf off the Louisiana coast.  It hasn't reached shore yet but if the winds shift...

According to what I just read on ABC News, they are still trying to get the leak stopped as well.  What a mess.

When I think about the environmental impact of it, it's very sad.  I went online to read up about hydroxycut but got sidetracked by this. The effect this has on wildlife...sad.  I hope they get the leak stopped soon.

Temperature Still Rising

My temperature this morning was 98 so they are still increasing gradually.  I don't feel as exhausted either.  As my temps rose, my exhaustion decreased.  My skin is still being difficult and I'm looking at acnepril reviews but the eczema....wow, the eczema. It got better on my upper chest but around my waistline - bad news. It's also back on one leg as well.

I have one more day of reading my morning temperature and then I can call the doctor and find out how he interprets these temperatures.  The thyroid, for being such a small organ, sure is a big pain!

Thyroid Symptoms Back

My thyroid is giving me problems again the last couple weeks - brain fog, exhaustion, feeling cold, etc.  My doctor has me taking my morning temperature to use as a measurement of thyroid function I guess.  They've been 97.2, 97.4, and 97.7 so far.  I've been so exhausted all morning, fall asleep by mid-afternoon for a nap and then fall asleep by 8:30 p.m. on the couch.  That just doesn't happen normally!  Plus, about a pound of the 19 pounds I lost has crept back on.  Yikes! I wanted all of that to stay gone.

I know it will come off again if the doctor continues to manage my thyroid correctly. He'll probably increase my dose (which is what I want if that is my only option with him), but I am still wondering if a straight T3 medication isn't the better way to go. He didn't think so but I just don't feel instinctively that he's right about that according to my research.  He said at my last appointment that I'd probably need an increase in the compounded Armour so I'm not sure why he's having me take temps. instead of just increasing my dose.

Maybe I'm just getting anxious over the weight gain and wanting to look for a slimming pill that works when I need to be patient and trust the new doctor. He's done good so far.  I should have an answer by the end of this week after I give him my temperature readings for five mornings.  It's the waiting I'm not good at.  Nobody has ever called me patient before, lol.

Daughter Has Art on Display with County Arts Council

My oldest daughter had art class last marking period.  One of her art pieces was selected for the county arts council show.  Great for her!

Bad news?  We had no idea where/what until a note came home the day of telling us that her art was appearing that evening so we could pick up her certificate from there, but they didn't give any address, time or anything!  We had no friggen idea where it was and the school was closed so I couldn't call.  I was mad.  I googled the art council and nothing!  We missed it.

We got her certificate (her art teacher brought it back) but it sure would've been nice to get pictures of her art on display!

Did I mention yet that I can't stand my kids' school?

Flying Computer!!

I am seriously about to toss my computer out a window!  The internet connection keeps going out on me.  I called our provider and she couldn't help.  She said this morning that she'd escalate my claim to a higher department and they'd call me back.  No call back.

I think I need to call Belkin about the router for our wireless internet connection but their customer support is in India.  Nothing against the citizens of India, but I have a hard time understanding what they are asking me on the phone.  If I can't understand, then I can't do what they're telling me.

It is times like this when I wish there was an IT Department I could call like I could when I worked outside the home.  I would imagine with technology advancing rapidly, if you do a IT job search now or five years from now, there will be good job availability.

I think there needs to be an inexpensive IT service for work-at-home parents like me who know a lot about using computer programs but not enough about the system itself to keep it running properly all the time.  It can get very frustrating to have work piled up, due tomorrow via the Internet, and have the Internet connection go out on you all day long.

Nine Year Old Birthday Gift Ideas

One of my daughters' birthdays falls on Earth Day and that is right around the corner.  We are probably going to do a tea party at the local cafe for her and several of her friends.  I have no idea what to get her for her birthday yet, probably electronics of some sort. She already has her own mp3 player but I bet she would love to have her own digital camera. I was going to get her a mini amp for her electric guitar but then she went and spent some of her savings on an acoustic guitar instead.

What do you get an almost nine-year-old who already has a bike, mp3 player, guitars, and a karaoke machine of her own?  I'll think of something.  I always do.

Spring Cleaning

We did a little spring cleaning last week when we got back from vacation.  With the rainy season here, we need to get the dehumidifier out in our basement again. Otherwise, it smells musty down there and I want fresh air.  It's nice to be able to open windows and doorwalls and get a good cross breeze going through the house.  I love spring!

It is in the 70's today and sunny.  What a beautiful day today.  I've been to the stable to see the horses, have the windows wide open now, and am thinking about going for a walk soon with my daughter to enjoy the outdoors.

Insurance Changes

With insurance changing with the government, I am wondering what kind of changes we will see through my husband's employer.  I keep looking at insurance advertising wondering how it affects everybody. I don't really understand all of it just yet so it's not clear just how it will affect everybody.  I guess time will tell.

I just hope which doctors I see aren't limited or that it won't cost anymore.  We can't afford higher costs and I can't afford to lose this new doctor who treats my thyroid.  He is awesome and I won't go back to a doctor who doesn't treat my thyroid right.  Now that I know what is right for me and my thyroid, you can bet I will get really, really loud if somebody tries to take that away from me.  I'm good at being loud too (just ask my kids).
