My thyroid is giving me problems again the last couple weeks - brain fog, exhaustion, feeling cold, etc. My doctor has me taking my morning temperature to use as a measurement of thyroid function I guess. They've been 97.2, 97.4, and 97.7 so far. I've been so exhausted all morning, fall asleep by mid-afternoon for a nap and then fall asleep by 8:30 p.m. on the couch. That just doesn't happen normally! Plus, about a pound of the 19 pounds I lost has crept back on. Yikes! I wanted all of that to stay gone.
I know it will come off again if the doctor continues to manage my thyroid correctly. He'll probably increase my dose (which is what I want if that is my only option with him), but I am still wondering if a straight T3 medication isn't the better way to go. He didn't think so but I just don't feel instinctively that he's right about that according to my research. He said at my last appointment that I'd probably need an increase in the compounded Armour so I'm not sure why he's having me take temps. instead of just increasing my dose.
Maybe I'm just getting anxious over the weight gain and wanting to look for a slimming pill that works when I need to be patient and trust the new doctor. He's done good so far. I should have an answer by the end of this week after I give him my temperature readings for five mornings. It's the waiting I'm not good at. Nobody has ever called me patient before, lol.
