No more bed bug infestations!

Bed bugs have made a comeback! Newspapers are reporting an increase in the number of bed bug cases in hotels and apartments. I know this from personal experience, unfortunately.

A couple years ago, my children were waking up with bites on their skin. There were no fleas in the house (I'm allergic to fleas so I'd know). We searched the mattresses for spiders and any other bugs but we couldn't see anything. When I looked up the bites online, they looked like bed bug bites! I washed and washed the bed linens but the little buggers hid well. I couldn't stop them from biting my kids at night!

Where had they come from? The only thing I could think of was that my husband had just spent several nights in a hotel on a business trip and perhaps had brought them home with him.

So I washed all the clothing again, covered the mattresses completely all the way around, vacuumed really well around the cracks in the floors, and the bed bug bites stopped. What a relief!

In the future, my husband is going to use a Bugzip. It is a bed bug encasement (made of heavy-duty clear vinyl) and will work great for future business trips so that any bed bugs that have made a home out of his hotel room won't hitch a ride home with him!

If you do get an infestation in your home, they will protect your clean clothing from the annoying little bugs from reinfecting your clothing while you treat. Otherwise, it's just a continuous cycle.
