I'm Taking Guitar Lessons
...well, when my guitar is paid off and out of lay-away I will start guitar lessons.
I talked briefly about wanting to learn to play guitar a few weeks ago. I was thinking I'd learn on an acoustic just to fiddle around with it casually. I also said how I'd like to learn but didn't want my husband (whose been playing since he was a kid) to teach me because I wouldn't want to listen to him. (He tried to teach me how to play euchre and I just couldn't get it with him teaching me but my sister-in-law was able to teach me euchre. I just can't take direction from my husband! It's ingrained in me not to listen to him.)
Anyway, my husband just came home from taking his guitar in for repair to tell me he put a guitar in lay-away for me. I freaked out (over the money). He says what he always says when it comes to guitars - - it was a good deal and we have three months to pay for it. This is a picture of it (above). It's not an acoustic (he said learning to play on an electric would be easier). He says it plays nice (and it's the finish he knows I like...at this stage, all I can say is I like the way it looks since I know nothing about how to play).
Oh boy, now I really do have to learn how to play guitar since he is buying one for me. At 37 years old, I'm wondering if it's too late to teach an old dog new tricks!
