Close-Up Picture of Your Face

Wow! That was scary!

Put your camera on close-up and take a picture of your facial skin!  I took a few because I wanted to post about blackheads and home remedies for blackheads but the pictures were too gross.  I ended up deleting every one of them from the camera.  No way am I immortalizing my awful skin online for the world to see!

Eek!  They could've used my pictures to make a Halloween mask!

Halloween Masks

My kids are already asking about Halloween costumes and what they should be.  Geez, let me get through September first!

How about this old lady mask?  Sure, she needs a lot of wrinkle cream but hey, it's Halloween!

My kids don't like scary masks so this one is perfect.  There's nothing scary about an old lady unless she's pinching your cheeks and asking you "for a little sugar".  (Sorry, grandma!)

Oldest Getting Driver's License

My stepdaughter is getting her driver's license in a couple weeks.  She's actually a couple years late getting it.  In fact, her little brother is in driver's training right now too.  I don't know if she took her time getting it due to her schedule or fear (anxiety, OCD).

She doesn't live near us so my car is safe from a teenaged driver thankfully.  Otherwise I'd be looking for the best anti wrinkle cream because I know my nerves would be shot knowing when one of our kids was on the road. My oldest is 13 so I have a couple years before I need to worry personally.  I know I will worry too.  The thought of my kids being teenage drivers, knowing some of the things I did as a teenage driver, scares me.

Different Diaper Rash Treatment

I just heard of a new diaper rash treatment from our pediatrician that he says the local Children's Hospital uses for babies who get diaper rash after having diarrhea. They combine equal parts Aquaphor (healing ointment) and Maalox (yes, Maalox), mix well and apply. Then store the rest in the fridge and take out to apply until rash is gone. Apparently the Maalox neutralizes the stomach acid in the diarrhea on the skin.

I looked it up online and apparently a lot of mothers knew about it already. I have never heard of this before and we are on our sixth child between us! I wish I'd heard about this a few kids ago.

Share this with other moms you know. Perhaps I'm not the only mother who has not heard of this yet.

Middle Aged Skin Care

I just turned 37. Does that make me middle aged yet? I guess if I plan on living to be 74 it does.

Since I am racing towards 40, I don't know how to care for my skin at this age. When I was younger, it was easy. Now, I have no clue. My skin is a mess - it's dry around my eyes, rough around my temples, and I need acne treatment around my nose. Any type of exfoliating treatment on my facial skin just turns it red and puffy. How do I care for this skin? Does anybody have any good hints for skin care at this age because I don't want to spend a ton on skin care that doesn't work? Please? Anybody?
