Point and Shoot Cameras

I am looking for a good point and shoot camera.  My husband told me to start researching digital cameras for my birthday. I told him that's not until October but hey, I'll start now.

I have a good digital SLR camera but I want a smaller, more casual camera for everyday picture taking.  It needs to have a better than average zoom on it with good picture clarity (mega pixels) for using it at the stable taking pictures of my daughter on her horse.  I don't take my SLR camera to the stable often because of the dust.  I'd hate to get arena sand in my lens.  The camera I am looking for also needs to be able to take video.  It needs to be able to go from a birthday party, to a school music program, to the stables.  I'm not sure what to choose from.  Any suggestions?

Everybody Should Have A Husband Who Spoils You

I am a tad bit spoiled (ok, maybe more than a "tad"). My husband has bought me several digital cameras over the years for my obsessive-compulsive need to take a ton of pictures of our children! For my birthday last October, he bought me a DSLR camera!

While I love the camera, I didn't have the computer programs to really take advantage of all the fun stuff that people can do with photos. He just bought me Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. I'm so geeked! It was on special with Adobe Premiere Elements 7 too (for videos) so now I can jazz up all the videos I take of my kids too.

Nokia N82 Silver Cell Phone

I love my cell phone but I wish it had a better camera. The pictures, no matter how advanced I thought my phone was when I bought it, are very low quality. Then I run across this cell phone that has up to a 5 mega pixel camera! Five! That's better than a lot of cameras on the market! It's called the Nokia N82 Silver.

I am a photography nut so I wish I had a better camera on my cell phone for those moments when lugging my digital camera around isn't possible. I miss a lot (like seeing two loose cows go down the road in front of my house last week when I live in the village, not out in the country). I really would've liked to have had a camera in my hand then!
