Special Moments to Remember

My three year old will reach up to touch my face and say, "I love you mommy." It melts my heart every time she does it. It comes out of nowhere to catch me by surprise and is the sweeting thing. She did this today and choked me up.

Of course, she also called me "stupid" today too. Gotta love this age!

Keeping toddler in her own bed

Tonight is the fourth night in a row our three year old has slept in her own bed. Yippee! This is a big deal for us because she's slept in our bed previously. I nursed her for more than two years (on demand...no set schedule) so it was just easier at night to have her there. Once I stopped nursing, it was a habit she was very attached to (as were we I think). Now, her toddler bed is at the foot of our bed but it's a start, right? Her bedroom will be finished this summer (her PaPa is going to finish the bedroom she will share with her big sister for them) and then we'll move her bed (and her) into her own room. That is going to be a big day!

As I'm typing this, she just yelled out, "mom, I not see you." I had to sit up so she knew I was here and she's content in her own bed again.

It'll be nice to have our own bedroom back...soon.

Kids as Leeches

Why is it that your toddler can ignore you when they have something to do but as soon as mom gets on the phone or sits down at the computer, they become little leeches, crawling all over you and demanding you pay attention to them very loudly (and I do mean LOUDLY)?

My two-year-old is a little blond leech who can SCREECH if she notices my attention go elsewhere. When I have another mom on the other end of the phone, they understand. They've been through it. When I have somebody on the other end of the line that doesn't have kids, they can't get off the phone fast enough.

I guess all that loud, annoying screeching and pawing at you is only behavior the toddler's mother (or father) could love.
