Refinancing FHA Home Mortgages

With this economy, has anybody attempted a FHA refinance to see about getting interest rates lowered?  We were thinking about it but we are planning to move in two years (to our "forever home") so I think we are going to hold off and wait it out. If you're thinking about it, you might want to research the FHA loan requirements.

The last couple years sure have been a struggle financially.  Wouldn't it be nice if the number of bills that came in the mail was contingent upon how much money you had coming in that week?  Just dreaming...

I am thinking the economy isn't going to change much until some political changes are made and the wars wind down.  I am hoping in two years, we'll be in a better position financially to get our "forever home" with great interest rates!  Also, it sure would be nice to have my nephew home to settle down, perhaps get a Military VA Loan, a wife, and 2.2 kids...or just come home so his mom and grandmother can stop worrying about him.

Saving the housing market with the housing bill

Well, the housing bill is just awaiting President Bush's signature and I'm not sure I like this bill. Is it really helping the individuals who need the help (and are my tax dollars paying for it?) or is it helping the large corporations (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) more while our national debt just grows and grows?

My mortgage is going to be late this month. We don't have the money to pay it when it comes due on Friday after all the money we spent on gas getting my stepkids here and back from their state to ours two weeks ago and the extra food that two teenagers eat (wow!) when there hasn't been an hour of overtime in too long again. So, not only does our national debt go up but are our tax dollars paying to help pull somebody else's mortgage out of trouble while our own is late?

I don't want the government to bail us out. Our mortgage will be paid. It'll just be a few weeks late this month. However, I don't see the sense of bailing out huge corporations like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac with my dang tax dollars when my own mortgage is late! Maybe letting some large corporations falter is what we need to happen. In any event, I'd rather MY tax dollars go to pay MY mortgage and not somebody else's!

Buying A House

One of the things that made me feel "adult" was buying my first home. I left apartment living behind and settled down. I did that when I was 24 years old. It was a four bedroom, two bath smaller place (tiny kitchen, lol) near family. I was proud of the fact that I was able to get a house on my own without having to have anybody cosign with the mortgage lenders. I did it on my own! We lived there four years before moving. We've lived in two more homes since then.
