HUGE Life Insurance Rate Increase

We received a notice from our life insurance company that our life insurance is going up - about nine times higher per month than we've been paying for years! Like we are going to pay that!  I contacted our insurance agent to find out what we could do but I am going to look for the best price on life insurance myself. Insurance going up that much is just ridiculous.

Pfft!  Do they think I will start breaking down past 40?  I don't think I will.  I plan to meet 40 a lot healthier than my 30's!

Is your family taken care of if you die?

I was talking to a man who sells life insurance last year about going into the business with him. I had thought since the economy was down, business would be bad but he said it was just the opposite. When the economy gets bad, he said his business goes up because it gets people thinking about their loved ones being taken care of. I bought all the materials, studied, and was ready to take the test when I decided against it. He and a relative of mine got involved and it ended quickly and nastily. I didn't think it'd be a good idea to get into that mix!

Learning all the ins and outs of life insurance had me thinking about my own family and own life insurance policies. I did start looking for online life insurance though to beef up our current life insurance we already have, which we did. I haven't decided if I will ever pursue a career in life insurance but now our family is covered should anything happen to one of us.

Neverending Home Improvements

With my husband up in the tree with a chainsaw this weekend and me holding the rope to pull the large branch my way so it didn't fall back on my husband at one point, my husband wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep it from falling on him. Like I'd let that large branch of the tree hit him (see the picture in the previous post...the one he was resting on was the one that was coming down when I was holding it...not with him on it at the time obviously, lol)! It prompted my mother-in-law to ask how our term life insurance was, lol. We're both insured so our kids aren't left penniless if something happens to one or the other or both of us. I hope it never comes to that, but we have to be responsible parents and ensure our kids are taken care of whether we are around or not.

Taking Care of Loved Ones

After my husband and I had children, we wanted to get a life insurance policy so if something happened to one of us, or both of us, our children would be taken care of. We didn't know what all the terminology was. I'd never heard of term life insurance before. It gives me some peace of mind to know that the guardian of our children will have financial help in raising our children.
