Window Shopping for Houses

How often do you just drive around looking at houses, imagining actually owning a particular house?  We drove by a house that looked like a log cabin on a hill out in the country.  It had great views! It was really unique compared to the rest of the houses in the area.  I could imagine decorating it with rustic furniture inside and just enjoying the privacy of not having a neighbor ten feet from my window.

It was definitely just window shopping though.  Trying to keep the house we have is a big enough effort without the reality of looking at another house.  Kind of like window shopping at the mall but for houses instead.  In 3-1/2 years when my husband's child support is done, perhaps we will be able to afford a house out in the country.

Get Ready for Spring!

I looked up in the Farmer's Almanac sunset times this morning.  Sunset tonight is at 6:15 p.m. and sunset a month ago was 5:38 p.m.  Days are getting longer which means there IS an end to this wretched snow that has had us snowed in here for almost two weeks straight.  Getting snowed in with three girls has been a big trial in patience because they have been all about the "girly wars" which drove the rest of us nuts.

I am looking forward to ditching the winter clothes, pulling out the outdoor furniture, and watching the flowers come back again. My four-year-old asked me today if I'd buy her a pair of flip-flops so I guess she is as ready as I am for warmer weather.  I think it'll definitely improve some moods in this house.
